HONOLULU (AP) 09/01 — An annual state report shows crime last year in Hawaii reached its lowest point in at least 40 years.
Compared to 2007, last year’s crime was down 27 percent.
The violent crime rate fell in three counties, but it did rise by more than 16 percent in Hawaii County.
Hawaii started officially tracking crime numbers 40 years ago.
